James joined Tompkins Wake in 2024 as a senior solicitor in our civil litigation and dispute resolution team. Before joining Tompkins Wake James worked as a Crown Prosecutor in the office of the Crown Solicitor for Hawke’s Bay and Gisborne.

He has frequently appeared in the District Court, High Court, Youth Court, and Rangatahi Court. James has particular experience in regulatory and local government proceedings.
