Tompkins Wake assists Floating Rock Studio

Tompkins Wake is pleased to have prepared the investment documentation for Floating Rock Studios and Hillfarrance Venture Capital on Hillfarrance’s investment in Floating Rock. Floating Rock is a high-end animation and visual effects provider, founded by some of the top talent at Weta Digital. Based in Wellington, Floating Rock’s founders have over 40 years of visual effects experience, having worked on major studio films, including Peter Rabbit 2, The Hobbit 3, Smurfs: The Lost Village. Aladdin, Justice League, The Angry Birds Movie, Avengers: Infinity War, Jungle Book, Hotel Transylvania, and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. This has created shockwaves globally, being reported in international sector related media. 

Hillfarrance’s investment will enable the Floating Rock team to continue its impressive growth trajectory, build their client base, and take advantage of the massive global increase in demand for animation and visual effects content. Commercial partner, Phil Taylor, led the Tompkins Wake team which helped put the deal through for Hillfarrance and Floating Rock, with assistance from Joseph Bracewell, a gaming law expert and keen gamer.
